Conservation & Community

Scientist, Educator, and Community Coordinator

Alex Moore, PhD

I am a Postdoctoral Associate at the High Meadows Environmental Institute at Princeton University. I completed my PhD at the Yale School of the Environment (December 2018) where my research focused on how predator-prey interactions influence the health and functioning of coastal wetland ecosystems. Following my PhD, I was an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at the American Museum of Natural History where I expanded upon my dissertation work by branching out into understudied coastal ecosystems while exploring the cultural implications of habitat restoration and conservation.

As a Postdoctoral Associate at Princeton, I aim to deepen my understanding of both the ecological and social-cultural features that influence coastal systems. Through this work, I endeavor to engage in the co-creation of knowledge and sustainable solutions with the local communities most directly impacted by conservation practices and policies.
